Afa Algae
Afa Algae
AFA Algae (Aphanizomenon flos aqua) are the origin, the so-called genetic prototype, of the process of photosynthesis, right at the beginning of the food chain. They are the only organisms known to have retained their Original perfect cell structure. Even natural catastrophes, climate changes and radioactive radiation have been unable to harm them in the course of time. This remarkable alga is the most elementary and holistic food source on our planet. It is free of toxins and can be dried at room temperature. This gentle drying process preserves the algae's vital energy and its nutrients. The blue-green "wonder plant" is rich in chlorophyll, 23 different amino acids (among them all 8 essential ones), lipids, minerals, and a variety of natural vitamins.
Cultivation
Cultivation
AFA Algae only grow in one single spot on Earth - in a free ecological paradise in the Upper Klamath Lake, which is part of the protected National Park System in the Cascade Mountains. It measures about 240 square kilometres and is situated between Mt. Shastra (sacred mountain of native Americans) and Crater Lake. This lake (one of the cleanest mountain lakes on Earth) is fed by a network of 17 mountain streams as well as by innumerable underground springs. All of them are called "The Rivers of Light" by the native population because they exude such an energetically pure and primordial atmosphere. Added to the enormous richness in minerals (given to it some thousands of years ago by the nearby volcano Mt. Mazama), the pure clean air and over 300 days of sunshine a year, this intact little paradise is unique in its kind. It is considered the earth's wealthiest producer of bio-mass. By carefully harvesting the algae from the lake's surface, more light can penetrate into the depths of the lake, supporting the growth of more plants. In this place, the algae are thriving in such splendour that it would be possible to supply the earth's population with an ideal daily share of about 1,5 grams without disturbing the lake's biological balance. Algae have been collected and used by native Americans for centuries. Scientists and algae experts discovered and examined them about 15 years ago. Lake Klamath has been classified, according to official measurements, as free from pesticides and as pure drinking water. The wild algae are sieved off when they are in full bloom. They are carefully harvested in special boats and spray dried at about 26 degrees Celsius. Due to this gentle preservation process, the plant cells can be preserved as a whole. Our algae powder is then pressed into 250 mg tablets without adding any other additives or thickening agents.
Purest protein
Purest protein
AFA Algae contain the most protein of all food sources known. More than that, their (glyco) protein is of a higher quality and is better adjusted to the needs of our body than (lipo) protein, such as in meat. Complex lipoprotein has to be transformed by the body, using up a lot of energy, into glycoprotein before it can be used. AFA algae, however, offer this protein already in its pure form. The body can assimilate these nutrients rapidly. The less energy the body has to spend for protein assimilation, the better for our brain, which, after all, uses as much as 20% of the body's available energy or oxygen resources.
Lipids
Lipids
The AFA Algae's delicately soft cell wall consists of two molecular fatty acid layers. AFA contains mostly unsaturated fatty acids, such as in cold-pressed olive or almond oil. This high value makes AFA a blessing for our skin. The skin gets smoother and can detoxify better. Our immune system is also stimulated. White blood corpuscles can circulate faster in our body fluids and can better fend off intruders like viruses and bacteria. Polyunsaturated fatty acids, which make up 25% of our brain's weight and are contained mostly in cold-pressed sunflower, sesame and soybean oil, are contained in high concentration in AFA. Biochemists differentiate between essential and non-essential fatty acids. Our body cannot manufacture the essential ones by itself and thus has to obtain them from our food. They are strong biomolecules, also called vitamin F, and are co-responsible for growth and regeneration of the skin, of the blood vessels and the nerve tissue. They are also an important factor for a clear and effective functioning of the brain.
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is a micronutrient only found in very few food sources. It belongs to the omega 6 fatty acids, being essential and vital to our health. The oil of the primrose (evening or night tree) contains this special juice and has been called, in Old England, "the King's all-round remedy". AFA, however, contains even more gamma-linolenic acid and is thus comparable in its importance to mother's milk. On the whole, AFA Algae is richer in essential fatty acids than all other plants, seeds, nuts, and other algae species. (Primrose contains approx. 7-10%, AFA contains 28%). AFA has this high concentration of fatty acids, which form a sort of "protective coat" due to the cold environment it is growing in.
Vitamins
Vitamins
Our body cannot manufacture all vitamins by itself and has to take them in additionally from food. AFA Algae guarantees a comprehensive supply of these valuable helpers for our body system. These vitamins - thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), folate, cobalamin (B12), ascorbic acid (C), tocopherol (E), biotin (B-vitamin), betacarotene (provitamin A) 240 RE, pyridoxine (B6), choline, inositol, d-CA pantothenate - are all present in their natural state and are thus ideally available to the entire body system.
Minerals
Minerals
Minerals are an essential and vital necessity, too. Most modern food sources, however, do not supply minerals in sufficient quantities and in an ideal composition any more. AFA Algae offer a wide array of usable minerals: bor, calcium, chlorine, chromium, cobalt, copper, fluorine, germanium, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, molybdenium, nickel, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, sodium, tin, titanium, vanadium, zinc.
Chlorophyll
Chlorophyll
Chlorophyll is the green pigment plants utilize to transform light energy from the sun, by way of photosynthesis, into their own plant energy. Its molecular structure is highly identical to that of our red blood corpuscles (haemoglobin), differing only in that the base atom in chlorophyll is magnesium, in haemoglobin, iron. AFA Algae have the highest share of chlorophyll of all plants and organisms.
