What are zeolites?

Zeolite is a natural mineral mixture of volcanic origin. We can find 106 different kinds of zeolite in nature. For the production of Globalium – tribo-technically activated zeolite – we use the crystalline mineral “klinoptilolith” from the group of so-called dice-shaped zeolites, because of its special absorptive and selective capacities as well as its capacity for ion exchange.

Origin of Globalium zeolite

To be tribo-technically activated, we have selected the klinoptilolith of the region of Korzak near the village of Nizny Hrabovec in Slovakia. In contrast to zeolites from other deposits such as in Russia (Trans-Caucasia), France (near Nantes), Cuba, and the USA (Oklahoma, California), this zeolite contains no harmful lead or arsenic impurities.

What is the specialty in its processing?

The volcanic mineral is nano-technologically pulverized by a newly developed micronizing process. Its reactivity is augmented by this process. The so-called “tribo-technical” activation is done in a special apparatus (TMA disintegrator). This process does not affect the chemical composition of the natural zeolite material, however its particle size, active surface, electrostatic charge, and capacity for ion exchange are all optimized to a remarkable degree.
