Paraffin candles from oil damage the environment.
Oil can be considered as prehistoric carbon storage. When used as an energy source, the bound hydrocarbons released ages ago, it comes to Surplus release of carbon dioxide.
Carbon footprint
In 2007 were sold in Germany around 200,000 tonnes of candles, which were produced to almost 98% of paraffin. The burning of paraffin candles produced approximately 630,000 tons of CO2. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of around 484 600 cars per year. (130 grams of CO2 per kilometer, with 10,000 km mileage per year).
This produces a kilogram of paraffin candles burn down more than 3.5 kilograms of carbon dioxide.
If the palm oil not needed more urgently than food?
Were all the candles made from palm oil in the world, this would be less than 1% of global palm oil production.
The eco-candle is regarded as carbon neutral as it is produced from renewable coconut oil. The burning of the released CO2 was bound in the growth in the recent past.
Our organic candles not only make a major contribution to environmental protection but also soot and thus cleaner and healthier than all conventional candles.
